Another art class assignment where we had to use pointilism technique. I couldn't get the paint to behave on the fence panels so I finally just gave up trying to use pointilism on them :P Pointilism is definetly one of the more interesting techniques- I'll have to try it again sometime in the future:nod: Though it totally killed my small brushes~~ Advanced critiques encouraged~ :sun:

Materials
Battat Acrylic paints
Regular construction paper 9 X 12 (unfortunately :( )

yeah i really want to do something like that. take a really long time on a painting and work hard :)

Yes, pointillism is often considered as the saviour technique in wet medias. :) Worked the same way in markers too. I still have to try it out myself.

Thing with pointillism is that it fractions a painting and create a 3D illusion due to lack of colour density on less pointed areas, also between pointed areas with different colour density. It also gives that beautiful texture to a painting which looks to be sheer detail.

Your painting seem to have all that, so it's fairly nicely done. :)

I'll definitely have to give pointillism another try, even though it really tested my patience for this one picture:nod: But I guess patience exercises are all important in the art world~~ Thanks for looking!! :rose:

Yeah, the drawback to pointillism is that it's a lot of work, having to press the brush on almost of the whole canvas. That and you'd need to take care on how dense and far apart the points are from one another. @_@

Well that's true.. In the end learn various technique, and try to put the one you favor and, or skilled at into priority.
I wish to take a look around some more, I'm afraid I've been neglectful of dA since becoming busy.. I guess I'd do that by my next visit on the upcoming weekend. Till then, see ya. :blowkiss:
